Connecting to the Metaverse

Basically, the metaverse is like a series of controlled experiences of suspended disbelief. You can create immersive experiences that will make your everyday life seem more interesting. For example, instead of an ordinary job, you could be a crewman on the Starship Enterprise. With enough controlled stimuli at the correct junctures, we can create the beginnings of these types of experiences.

It seems unattainable when there are no participants, but take this for example: if you are at a gathering and everyone is having fun playing charades, then it is a matter of course that if you're not playing charades, you're left out. But if you're the only one who wants to play charades, you can't play charades. Meta experiences are similar: you are "hooked in" to other participants. Together, with a controlled suspension of disbelief, you can begin to participate in more palatable life roles.

The most primitive form of meta is basically hypnosis. Participants are lured into basically a fantasy setting through ordinary means— auditory and visual stimuli. However, with the efforts of hypnotic engineers and collaboration, participants can be "hooked in" to a setting of their choosing, but at the beginning stages it will simply appear to be a change in "perspective".

As such, property in the Meta will be essentially immune to theft— which is to say, if you are Captain Robert of the Starship Incredible (a thing I just made up), then the only way to lose such a role is to be an actual failure. If you have a crew, then the loyalty of your crew will be tethered to your friends' actual loyalty. But more importantly, once you are "plugged in" to the Meta, something like financial loss will not eliminate your role in the meta, but will be more like an obstacle encountered by the members of your Starship.

Now you might wonder, "what if I want to have a meta experience in both Star Trek and Pokemon?" Well, you can do so, but you will need to have a shared experience with other participants in the meta. For example, you may invite others to have an experience in both Star Trek and Pokemon— if they are willing to share an experience in Star Trek and not Pokemon, then your efforts must lead you elsewhere to have a shared Pokemon experience: this may prove exhausting, meaning owning property in the Meta and owning property in reality will be two very different things.

Owning treasure in the Meta will be the richness of the experience you are able to have with other human beings. If someone adores you, they will play everything with you from Pokemon to Star Trek, from Game of Thrones to Harry Potter. If you have many people who adore you, you will be able to carve out your own personal domain in the Metaverse. When compatible imaginations merge together, they can create exponentially richer experiences than a single imagination with innumerable dullards. So when you try to experience Meta, you start by connecting with compatible minds that have the spark of imagination.
